Grassy Ridge Bald at 6,200ft. is about a 2.5 mile hike from Carver's Gap parking lot
Sometimes 13 colors on the outdoor palette is a bit lacking for a scene like this
Flame Azaleas'
Grassy Ridge Bald, NC 6,200 Elevation overlooking Round Bald at 5,200
Spruce Grove on Round Bald
I think rhododendrons are most striking on an overcast day
This scene would not be a good subject to paint but I just had to anyway.
The trail you see is the Appalachian Trail which goes from Georgia to Maine
Flame Azaleas' with thunder on the horizon. Time to high tail it out of here
Just after supper
Last light on Round Bald
Early Light on Round Bald
